About Serendipity Pre-School
|
|
Serendipity Pre-School has served the Morgantown area for more than 40 years. Mrs. Marty Ingle and Mr. Eric Baumgardner have been the proud owners since 1991. The Serendipity School works in a collaborative effort; teachers and parents working together for the benefit of the child. |
|
The Serendipity Pre-School Class is for 3-4 year olds. This class
has been developed to ease the children into small group and large group
settings. The focus is to nurture the child at this young age to enjoy
a school environment. The activities are primarily geared for socialization
and working to be an independent thinker and doer. The learner targets
also introduce the child to basic number, letter concepts as well as using
a wide range of children's books to compliment a wide variety of activities. |
|
The Serendipity Pre-K Class is for students that will be going on to kindergarten, or need a more structured, challenging environment. Learning targets for this class are geared towards fine and gross motor skills, reading skills (phonics, sight words, and reading structure), math (number concepts and calculations), science (totally hands-on experiments) and social awareness ( the world around us and its people). Classes work in large and small groups and a strong emphasis is placed on peer team-work. The importance of socialization and emotional needs are catered to. Individual reinforcement/challenging are monitored closely in these classes. Serendipity's curriculum has been designed by the owners/teachers
of Serendipity. The structured program is developmentally accelerated.
The learning targets that have been established are geared towards an
easy transition from preschool to kindergarten. |
